UNESCO PROFILE ↗CAMBODIA · MADE BY HAND
ONE CONTINUOUS CREATIVE LINE
Angkor’s sculptors gave stone movement, serenity and power. Cambodia’s painters, dancers, musicians, weavers and performers carried that creative intelligence forward—even when war attempted to break the line.
Today the story belongs to master craftspeople and young graduates, returning diaspora artists and rural weavers, traditional teachers and urban muralists. The most exciting way to understand Cambodian art is to see the old and the new together.

The National Museum’s collection spans stone, metal, wood and ceramics. Its masterpieces show how Khmer makers absorbed outside influence, then created a visual language with a character entirely its own.
